PM Modi’s Latest Infrastructural Marvel: Delhi-Dausa-Lalsot Expressway Now Open!

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the 246-km Delhi-Dausa-Lalsot section of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway on Sunday, February 12th. The completion of this first section of the expressway, developed at a cost of over ₹12,150 crore, will bring a major boost to the economic development of the region and reduce travel time from New Delhi to Jaipur from five hours to around three and a half hours.

Accelerating Connectivity, Fueling Economic Growth

PM Modi’s focus on road infrastructure as a key engine of growth, development, and connectivity in “New India” is being realized through the construction of world-class expressways across the country. The Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, once completed, will be India’s longest, stretching 1,386 km and reducing travel distance between Delhi and Mumbai by 12% from 1,424 km to 1,242 km, and cutting travel time by 50% from 24 hours to 12 hours.

Transforming India’s Economic Landscape

The expressway will pass through six states – Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, and Maharashtra – and connect major cities such as Kota, Indore, Jaipur, Bhopal, Vadodara, and Surat. It will also serve 93 PM Gati Shakti Economic Nodes, 13 ports, eight major airports, and eight multi-modal logistics parks, along with spurs to upcoming greenfield airports like Jewar, Navi Mumbai, and JNPT Port.

The expressway’s construction will have a catalytic impact on the development of all adjacent regions and will contribute significantly to the economic transformation of the country. During the inauguration, PM Modi will also lay the foundation stone for 247 km of national highway projects, to be developed at a cost of over ₹5,940 crore.
